Geophysical Survey - Gravity

Gravity Surveying measures variations in the Earth's gravitational field generated by differences in sub-surface rock densities. Applications of gravimetric surveys are generally used to target broad scale geological features.

Identifiable Features Once field data has been corrected and modeled, extent and locations of geological features can be identified such as;
  • Identify concealed basin structure eg. Clermont style, by tracing basin floors.
  • Basement fractures & faulting via variation in stratigraphy densities can be identified by means of distinctive signature over offsets.
  • Broad scale lithology logging in new areas.
  • Intrusions - Usually provide an excellent contrast to the lower density surrounding rock.
  • Other density contrasting features.

GeoConsult Acquisition
  • Good start to exploration; low impact - easier land access, use of existing infrastructure, small
    team, relatively low cost & quick.
  • Provision of all field equipment, personnel and procedures to match the scale of the target.
  • Acquisition process from survey design, trial survey’s to field data collection processing & storage.
  • Drift correction & noise adjustment.
  • Geophysical corrections and modeling.
  • Can be run in conjunction with gravity and TSIM surveying to increase interpretation reliability.
  • Professional reporting on nature of recorded gravity anomalies.

GeoConsult provides a complete service from survey planning and design, access to the survey equipment, data acquisition, interpretation and professional reporting.
